Belgian Organization for Children and Adults with a Metabolic Disease

There are more than 3,000 metabolic diseases, each of which, individually, is too rare to get support and interest. The Belgian Organization for Children and Adults with a Metabolic Disease (BOKS) wants to inform and support people who suffer from these diseases – directly and indirectly.

BOKS was founded in 1994 by a brave parent couple who had two sons suffering from a life-threatening metabolic disease. They walked through the labyrinth of applications for medication, special nutrition, etc. The parent pair got in touch with other parents and decided to set up BOKS to inform and support each other.
